Pancake sandwich is enough. Chicken burger is too much.
Jollibee keeps on inventing (and recycling) chow in their menu. When pancake sandwich was released, my response is “what the… big breakfast sandwiched?” I haven’t tasted it because that’s a choice. I prefer pancake, eggs and patties separately. How would the maple syrup go with the ketchup? Yeah right, maple syrup and ketchup are not mixed in the pancake sandwich yet my taste buds will complain if I won’t wet these plain stuff. Oh well, maybe I am not part of their target market.
Jollibee has been the frequent answer for my hunger since I started working. There was a day that I take out value meals on lunch, pm merienda and dinner – all Jollibee. I can blog another separate article on why I choose the bee over the clown. Even though they are introducing unusual to my taste, I’ll be after Jollibee when my stomach aches.
With their line up of the langhap-sarap menu, I feel that Jollibee aims to compete with all fast food for customers – to be more than just a burger chain. You won’t find any food chain close to Jollibee serving soups, mashed potato, salads, flavored crushed ice, several flavors of sundae, pies filled with fruits or meat, and arroz cubana.
Jollibee can simply do that because they already acquired several food chains. When they serve pizza melt pie, perhaps the pizza sauce and small amount of meat bits comes from the Greenwich supply. The brownies in their soft ice cream might be from Red Ribbon leftovers. Would it be plain coincidental for the case of soups for Chowking and the leafy salad ingredients for Delifrance?
Soon Jollibee will serve chocolate mousse, dinuguan and puto, siopao and coffee… Nah. Just imagining.

You’re so missing out if you don’t try the pancake sandwich. It doesn’t sound good BUT it tastes really yummy! Somehow all the flavors just end up mixing together really well. I have this for breakfast lots of times.
And err.. I didn’t taste any maple syrup. That’s gross.
