After Borakada Blast last month, barkada gimmicks continue. We raid movie houses. We dine and dash food trips. We drink beer and cheer. We redefine what it means to be an ITO Support Specialist when we watch and support the barkada ITO Gold Miner players of the HP sportsfest.

If there’s only one bond that I enjoy while staying at the company, it is the bond the friendship has built.

Movie Maraton

Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End, Glorietta 4, May 24.

I’m with Myk and Jeff. We were 15 minutes late and arrived at the scene where Will Turner’s gang was sailing in cold waters. I got lost and seems like I was on the doldrums half of the movie for I haven’t watched the second installment of the Pirates. I could as Myk on my left but this was Myk’s first Pirates movie. On my right is Jeff but couldn’t help too since he’s sleeping. Basta tawa na lang kami ni Myk kapag nagpapatawa sina Jack Sparrow at Captain Barbossa. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Ocean’s 13, Shangri-La, June 16.

The Champions in the making.

Headed to Ortigas with Myk, Jeff, JP and Dans after the first win basketball game. Good thing even we haven’t made a reservation we managed to have row of 5 seats for us. It was Jeff’s day by the way. Good thing I was sitted next with Myk who had watched the second sequel. I might end lost again. I don’t know from Myk (who’s developing Security tools) but I felt satisfied working in the Security area while watching the movie. I really love penetration… I mean, intrusion. Imagine probability and statistics are also incorporated with this area and of course, computer graphics. Weeh!

Suddenly, creativity rushed in and the idea of having an own version of gangsters since we already have our Sir Gerry then popped in. Read related post here.

Anyways, back to the movie… I enjoyed it and everyone did. Ocean’s 12 is not a prerequisite to understand the third installment. Yes, the technologies of the hotel might be close to fiction but let’s see what computers will become. I write stories. I write programs. And I know the possibility. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

We went to Mr. Kabab for dinner without Myk for his 9-NA shift has begun. Quezon City became my second home for five years yet I haven’t stepped in to the famous Mr. Kabab. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 spoons. I’m not a big fan of shawarma but Mr. Kabab is interestingly better than it.

Next, Trinoma, June 23

Redefined what IT support specialist is. Go go IT-O-Oh!

The company’s getting bigger with Myk, Jeff, JP, Dans, Jay, Che, Paul and Nits. After the second win in basketball game, we came back to Mr. Kabab for lunch. We’re beating 12:00 mark for the movie will start 30 minutes after 12 noon. The movie mentioned the words ‘destiny’ and ‘fate’ from time to time and made itself definitely Myk’s movie. Jeff, Mr. Free Will, of course, spoiled those beliefs and maybe because he missed half of the movie. Supposedly, this should be his day also like Ocean’s 13. Anyways, maybe that’s Jeff’s destiny. The movie has less action and more drama. The plot is simple. Nice play of creativity when Nicolas cage split. Rating: 3 out of 5. Next showed that sometimes pursuing what your heart longs could lead to something you left behind goes wrong. But it’s your priority again.

They can hardly wait for the shawarma.

Transformers, Greenbelt 3, June 29

New crowd of eight with Myk, Jeff, Kido, Marianne, (at last) Kat, Jay, Gerry. I couldn’t find a cinema that would allow us to sit us as block or row (of course, horizontal naman noh! Alangan naman pataas ang abot ng popcorns. Hahaha.) on the first day of screening so I ended to reserve seats through MPass on Friday. Rating: 7 out of 5 stars. Uber-cool movie! There comes security again. (Lagi na lang!).

I miss Blender, a 3D computer graphics application. I feel I can replicate what happened to that gigantic box. I will enhance that skill perhaps if I decide to quit SAP career. Welcome me, Hollywood.

The Transporters after watching Transformers.

It’s Jeff’s treat. You know, when you watch a very good movie in the expense of others, it really feels good. We headed to Krocodile’s Grill to celebrate his birthday. I love baked mussels. I’m starting to feel what Jay feels as a photographer. Hindi makasama sa picture. Hahaha. But it’s ok at least I have my own set now.

Busog sa kakatawa!

Die Hard 4.0, Promenade, July 7

It’s 777. Lucky number right? But how memorable the afternoon of 777 was to Jeff, Gerry and Che! They (we) were held up for street violation. MMDA freed us after we helped them. I will blog another post kung ano ang lagay ng panahon sa MMDA.

Take down pins! And dig for gold!

Yey! Our bowling team qualified to the semi finals as we landed second place over all. I have 4 marks. One of which is a strike not after Myk shouted “Isipin mo si The-One-Who-Cannot-Be-Choked (hindi tunay na pangalan) yang pins.” After Monty’s Birthday (we don’t who the kid is actually), Myk, Jeff, Gerry and I headed to Promenade. Greenhills is now at its best. And woaah! We’re fighting temptations around and I think Jeff can already start his moving on process.

Die Hard 4.0 was about to start few minutes and we haven’t eaten our dinner. So we decided to bring donuts and popcorn inside the cool movie house. The movie played again over the security grounds. And if only I’m working on the same scope of security, then I wouldn’t complain when I’m at my cubicle. There’s lot of explosions which I really enjoyed (and Nokia advertisements too). The attempts to kill the hero are definitely must-see. The plot is common but they twisted it somehow where plot included and combined Spiderman, The Net and believe me Optimus Prime was also there. Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Uwian na! We’re quite worried on how Jeff and Gerry manage to go home. They could befriend another MMDA again.
