It’s funny to know from Wikipedia that some listeners believe that Crazy For You was a Sponge Cola original. Is that serious? Anyways, that a capella cover really attracted many ears including mine because it was my first time to hear male version of that popular Madonna song. Michael Cruz of Star In A Million also revived the same song but it’s SC version that has the last recall. I can still remember the height of the hype of Sponge Cola when I was on this internet cafe playing their released singles prior to Crazy For You. It was my first time to hear those songs and I really appreciated it. Correct me if I’m wrong, I say that the rise of the local band started with Sponge Cola. That’s why it’s nice to hear their acts ahead of others… ahead of the bandwagon.

I’m not die hard fan of Sponge Cola even I confess now that I joined several groups and mailing list for Sponge Cola. I’m not a fanatic for i haven’t been in a SC gig. Free passes anyone? I appreciate music of other bands like Imago and Itchyworms more. Sponge Cola’s lyrics become my favorite decomposition – bashed lyrics like Bitiw which talks about resignation and KLSI on tax refund. Both are now played by Sponge Bola.

“Sponge Cola”. Nazty Ambigrams by Jonas Roque

But definitely this ambigram is one of my favorite ambigrams. Check the small and capital letter G – they are ambigram-twin letters. I hope their company handler would notice this. Isn’t this nice piece on a cover art for their next album? Guys! It’s free! I just need a citation on the album leaflet. Or what about a tattoo for Yael, Gosh, Armo and Chris? W00t! W00t!

More power to Sponge Cola! I hope I can get an exclusive backstage pass at your performance for this ambigram.

For my ambigram fanatics, watch out for the next ambigrams of featured OPM artists. Suportahan natin ang Pinoy Music!
